I waited about 10 weeks after extractions before getting my first set. My dentist was adamant about letting the bone and gums settle. Honestly, it did help with the fit, but I still needed multiple relines as things kept shifting. The sore spots were relentless for a while—seemed like every week something new popped up. Did anyone’s speech ever fully go back to normal? I still catch myself with a bit of a whistle on certain words.I’m still not sure if there’s an “ideal” timeline for new dentures post-extractions.
