Man, the “marbles in the mouth” feeling is so real. I kept messing up words with a lot of S’s and T’s for weeks. Honestly, I started practicing by reading menus out loud at home—felt silly, but it actually helped. Did you try any of those denture adhesives to see if it helps with stability? I found a cheap one at the drugstore that made a difference for me, especially when I had to talk a lot at work.

Also, did your dentist give you any speech exercises? Mine just said to practice, but I kind of wish they’d given more specifics. Reading to your dog is a great idea—might have to steal that one. For me, the biggest hurdle was not getting frustrated when my tongue felt like it was fighting my teeth. Some days are still rough, but I don’t stress as much now either.

Out of curiosity, did you have to get your dentures adjusted after the first fitting? My first set was way too loose and that made talking even harder (and honestly, kind of embarrassing). Wondering if that’s common or if I just got unlucky...
