I'm honestly fed up with my dentures moving around when I'm eating or talking... it gets super annoying. Thinking about implants but heard they're pricey and take forever to heal. Has anyone dealt with this?

Totally get where you're coming from with the dentures slipping around—my daughter had a similar issue after an accident knocked out a couple of teeth. She tried partial dentures at first, but they drove her crazy, especially during meals or when chatting with friends. After lots of back-and-forth, we decided to go for implants. Honestly, yes, they're pricey, and the healing process does take patience (a few months for her), but looking back, it was definitely worth it.

The improvement in comfort and confidence was night and day. She eats pretty much anything now without worrying about things shifting around. Plus, no more awkward moments mid-conversation! If cost is a big concern, some dentists offer payment plans or financing options—we went that route and it made things much easier on our budget.

Just wanted to share our experience since I remember how frustrating it was dealing with dentures constantly moving. Hope this helps you decide!

I hear ya on the slipping dentures—been there, done that, got the embarrassing stories to prove it. 😂 Seriously though, implants were a game changer for me. Sure, they're not cheap and the healing felt like it took forever (felt even longer because I'm impatient and stubborn), but looking back, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Exactly this! I missed biting into a juicy apple without second-guessing if my dentures would stay put. Now I eat whatever I want without a care in the world. And honestly, the confidence boost alone was worth every penny.

That said, everyone's different—healing times vary quite a bit. Mine took about four months start to finish. Maybe ask around your dentist's office if they have any patients who can share their experiences?

Glad implants worked out so well for you. I'm still on the fence myself—mostly because the thought of months of healing makes me super anxious. I've heard some folks manage pretty well with those adhesive strips or liners. They're not perfect, but a friend of mine swears by them and eats corn on the cob without issues. Might be worth trying before jumping into implants? Just throwing another option out there...
