That weird taste after rinsing definitely threw me off too. I couldn’t tell if it was the leftover anesthesia, antibiotics, or just whatever was healing in there. I kept second-guessing if I’d cleaned everything out with the syringe—like, what if some debris just sat in the socket? Kind of gross to think about, honestly.

I was super cautious about dry socket as well. Every time there was a new ache or throbbing, I’d start googling symptoms and checking with a flashlight in the mirror. Turns out most of that discomfort was just normal healing, but it’s hard not to get paranoid when everyone online talks about how awful dry socket is supposed to be.

Warm saline seemed less harsh for me too. Cold water made my whole jaw ache. Still not sure if the taste was from the meds or just all the weird stuff happening in my mouth... Guess that’s just part of the process.
