Ibuprofen just wasn’t enough on its own. I wish there was an easier fix for this.

Man, I feel this. My nephew had a dry socket too and he was just miserable—like, “don’t talk to me, I’m living on the couch now” level. The dentist did that clove oil packing thing and it smelled funky but apparently helped a bit. We also tried cold packs on the outside of his jaw (not sure if it really worked or just distracted him?). It’s wild there isn’t some tech gadget for this yet… like, where’s my Bluetooth pain zapper when I need it?

I wondered the same thing with ice packs—felt like it dulled things for a bit but didn’t touch the real pain. My dentist packed in some medicated gauze and that was the only thing that actually made a difference for me. Ibuprofen barely took the edge off, honestly. The clove oil smell is… intense, but I’d take that over throbbing jaw pain any day.
