Interesting take—I actually had the opposite experience with gum bleeding. For me, even a tiny bit of blood when brushing was my first warning sign, even though everything looked and felt fine otherwise. I didn’t get that metallic taste much, but the bleeding freaked me out enough to tweak my routine. I guess everyone’s mouth sends up different “red flags.” It’s wild how subtle some of the early gum issues can be, though. Sometimes I wonder if we overthink normal changes, but then again, ignoring stuff hasn’t worked out well for me in the past...
That’s actually what got my attention with my kid—just a bit of pink when they spit after brushing. No pain, no swelling, and definitely no weird taste. I kept second-guessing if it was just brushing too hard or normal for new teeth coming in. Did you ever find out what caused yours? For us, the dentist said sometimes it’s just technique, but we still had to switch to softer brushes and watch snacks. It’s so easy to miss early signs, especially with kids who don’t mention anything unless it hurts.
