Totally agree, pressing too hard is a rookie mistake—I did the same thing at first and ended up with sore gums for days. One thing that helped me was getting a brush with a built-in pressure sensor. It flashes or buzzes if you're pushing too hard, which is super helpful when you're still figuring things out. Plus, you don't need to splurge on the fanciest model; even some budget-friendly electric brushes have this feature now. Worth checking out if you're still adjusting...

That's actually a great tip—I wish I'd known about those sensors sooner. When I first switched to electric, I was convinced harder brushing meant cleaner teeth (spoiler alert: it doesn't). Took me a while to realize gentle is better, and my gums definitely thanked me once I eased up. Honestly, the pressure sensor brushes are a game changer, especially if you're still getting used to the feel of electric brushing. And like you said, no need to break the bank; even some cheaper models have this feature now.

Stick with it though... switching from manual to electric can feel weird at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll wonder why you didn't switch sooner. My dentist noticed the difference pretty quickly too—less plaque buildup and healthier gums overall. You're on the right track!

Yeah, wish I'd known about that sensor thing earlier too. First time I used an electric toothbrush, I practically treated it like a power drill—my gums were not amused, lol. I'm still getting the hang of the "gentle" brushing thing, but at least now my mirror isn't looking like a crime scene anymore. Good to hear your dentist noticed improvements though... gives me hope for my next visit.

Haha, your "crime scene" comment made me laugh—my kid had a similar experience when we first switched him to electric. He thought pressing harder meant cleaner teeth, and let's just say the bathroom looked... interesting for a while. One thing that helped us was switching to a toothbrush head specifically labeled as "sensitive" or "soft." Have you tried different brush heads yet, or are you sticking with the standard one that came with it?

Totally agree about the sensitive brush heads, made a huge difference for me too. Also noticed some electric brushes have pressure sensors—mine buzzes gently if I press too hard. Might help your kid get the hang of it quicker...
