"Personally, I've noticed that when I cut back on sugary snacks and soda, my teeth feel smoother and less sensitiveβ€”even before switching toothpaste types."

Totally relate to this! A couple months back, I scaled way down on sugary drinks (partly for my wallet, partly for my teeth, haha) and noticed a legit difference. Still not convinced about ditching fluoride entirely though... maybe it's the cautious side of me, but I figure better safe than sorry. Curious to see how everyone else's experiments pan out long-term.

I've noticed something similar when cutting down on sweets. My dentist explained that sugar feeds the bacteria causing plaque buildup, so it makes sense teeth would feel better. Still, fluoride seems helpful for cavity prevention... anyone tried fluoride-free and had good results long-term?

I've been fluoride-free for about two years now, and honestly, my teeth feel fine. But I also drastically cut down on sugary snacks and sodas around the same time, so it's hard to say what's really making the difference. Has anyone else noticed improvements just from dietary changes alone, without switching toothpaste? Curious if diet might be a bigger factor than we realize...

I've noticed something similar myself. About a year ago, I significantly reduced processed sugars and acidic drinks without changing my toothpaste (still using fluoride-based), and my dentist commented on noticeable improvements in enamel strength and gum health. It seems logical that diet plays a substantial roleβ€”after all, reducing sugar intake directly limits the food source for cavity-causing bacteria. Fluoride might help strengthen enamel, but dietary habits probably have a bigger impact than we typically acknowledge...
