Been reading up lately about gum health and came across some stuff saying vitamin C is pretty key. Got me wondering though—would it be better to just eat more citrus fruits (like oranges, grapefruits, etc.) or should I go straight for the supplements? I mean, fruits have other good stuff too, right? But then again, supplements seem easier to keep track of daily. Curious what most folks here prefer and why.

Fruits are great, no doubt, but citrus can be pretty acidic and might actually irritate your gums if you're sensitive or already dealing with inflammation. Ever noticed your mouth feeling a bit raw after too many oranges? Supplements can help avoid that issue, but honestly, why not mix it up with other vitamin C-rich foods like bell peppers or strawberries? They're gentler on your gums and still give you the extra nutrients fruits offer. Just something to chew on...

I've definitely noticed that citrus sensitivity myself—after a week of daily grapefruit, my gums felt noticeably tender. Switching to kiwi and strawberries made a real difference, gentler yet still effective for vitamin C intake. Supplements are handy, but fresh alternatives worked better for me personally.
