I've used chlorhexidine rinses a couple times after dental procedures, and yeah, they do help with inflammation and healing. But you're right about the staining—it's no joke. My dentist recommended using it for short periods only (like a week or two max), and brushing thoroughly afterward to minimize discoloration. Honestly, for everyday gum health, I've found a gentle saltwater rinse or alcohol-free mouthwash does the trick without the scary side effects...or the peppermint-induced screaming.

I've noticed saltwater rinses help a lot too, especially after minor procedures or irritation. But I'm curious—have you tried any of those mouthwashes with essential oils (like tea tree or eucalyptus)? I've read mixed things about their effectiveness on gums, and some people swear by them, but I'm skeptical about how gentle they really are. Wondering if anyone's had personal experience with those...

Yeah, I've wondered the same thing... tried a tea tree oil mouthwash once and felt like I'd gargled a Christmas tree—fresh but kinda intense. Anyone else find essential oils a bit harsh or is it just me being sensitive?
