That “no crunch” rule really caught me off guard too. I figured soft foods would be easy, but after a week, I was desperate for anything with texture. The cost definitely adds up, especially with things like pre-made soups and protein shakes. Did you find any affordable soft foods that actually felt satisfying? I ended up eating a lot of oatmeal and cottage cheese just to mix it up, but honestly, it gets old fast.

Yeah, the “no crunch” rule is way tougher than I expected. I thought I’d be fine with yogurt and mashed potatoes, but after a few days, I just wanted something that didn’t feel like baby food. The cost part is real too—those pre-made shakes and soups add up fast, especially if you’re trying to keep some variety.

One thing that helped me was making my own blended soups at home. I’d just throw in whatever veggies were on sale, cook them down, and blend it all up with some broth. It’s not fancy, but it’s way cheaper than buying the pre-made stuff. Also, scrambled eggs were a lifesaver for me—they’re soft but still feel like real food.

Honestly, after a week of this diet, even plain refried beans tasted amazing. Texture cravings are no joke. Pudding and applesauce got old fast for me too... Sometimes I’d just microwave a sweet potato and mash it up with a little butter and cinnamon. Not crunchy, but at least it felt different than the usual lineup.

Hang in there—it really does get better once you can eat normally again.

- Totally get the baby food struggle. First couple days, I was like, “Hey, pudding for breakfast? Not bad.” By day three, I’d have traded my left sock for a tortilla chip.
- Blending soups is genius. I tried pureed chicken and rice once... not my best work, but it was warm and salty, so whatever.
- Scrambled eggs are clutch. I also did cottage cheese with a little hot sauce when I got desperate for something savory.
- Honestly, the real shock for me was how much I missed chewing. Didn’t realize how satisfying it is until you can’t do it.
- Texture cravings are so real—by the end of week one, even oatmeal felt like a treat.
