WHY DOES GUM SHAPING HAVE TO HURT THIS MUCH?

Okay, maybe I’m dramatic, but wow… I wasn’t expecting my gums to be this sore after the reshaping thing. Eating is a whole event now, and even brushing is like, “do I really need teeth?” Ibuprofen helps a bit, but it’s just annoying how long the discomfort drags on. Anyone else feel like it gets worse in the evenings? Or am I just a wimp about mouth pain? Would love to know if there’s a trick I’m missing.
