Had a dental implant a few months back and everything was fine until recently. Noticed some redness and tenderness around the implant site, kinda worried me. Anyway, dentist recommended this antibacterial gel (can't remember the exact name but it's a clear tube). Been using it for about a week now, seems like it's helping but not sure if it's just me convincing myself, you know? Curious if anyone else tried something like this and if it actually worked long-term or not.
Had something similar happen to me a while back. Dentist gave me some clear gel stuff too—probably the same mystery tube you're talking about, lol. Honestly, I wasn't convinced it did much. At first, I thought it was helping, but looking back, I think it was mostly wishful thinking on my part. Eventually had to go back in and get things checked out again.
Turned out the redness was from irritation caused by food particles getting trapped around the implant site. Dentist recommended using one of those water flossers (you know, the mini pressure washer for your mouth?). Felt kinda silly blasting my gums every night, but it actually cleared things up pretty quickly. Might be worth trying if the gel doesn't fully do the trick.
Anyway, hope yours clears up soon—implant drama is no fun at all...
