What if your implant keeps bugging you - how would you cope?
Totally relate to that urge to wait it out - I'm the queen of “maybe it'll just go away.” But honestly, when my implant started feeling weird, I couldn't stop poking at it with my tongue and stressing myself out. I kept thinking, what if it's infected? Or loose? It just spiraled. I caved and called the dentist too, and yeah, it was nothing…but the anxiety was real. Does anyone else get weird phantom aches even after being told everything's fine? Or is that just my nerves playing tricks?
Ugh, I totally get you - my brain does the same thing. Dentist says it’s fine, but suddenly I’m hyper-aware of every twinge. I swear sometimes it’s just my nerves being dramatic, but then I start googling and spiral... Fun times, right?

Yeah, that “spiral” is too real. I had a crown placed over an implant and every tiny sensation had me convinced something was wrong. Turns out, the osseointegration process can cause weird sensations for months. My dentist said as long as there’s no swelling or persistent pain, it’s normal. Still, my brain loves to catastrophize... Google definitely doesn’t help either.

Ugh, I’m in the same boat. Got my first implant a couple weeks ago and every twinge feels like a red flag. I keep poking at it with my tongue, which probably isn’t helping, but it’s like I can’t stop checking. Dentist said “give it time,” but my brain’s like, “or maybe it’s falling out?” Why does Google always make it sound like you’re one sneeze away from disaster?
I totally relate to the urge to keep checking - I’m a bit of a “worst case scenario” thinker too. When I got my implant, I kept obsessing over every tiny sensation, even though my dentist said minor discomfort was normal. It’s wild how much misinformation is out there… Google can make even routine healing sound catastrophic. Did your dentist mention anything about how long the odd sensations should last? I’m curious if everyone’s timeline is as variable as mine seemed - mine took a while to settle down.
