What if your implant keeps bugging you - how would you cope?

Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and not panic over every twinge... easier said than done, though.

I’m in that “every twinge is a crisis” phase right now, not gonna lie. I keep Googling symptoms, which is probably the worst idea. My dentist gave me the “as long as there’s no fever or swelling” speech too, but it’s hard not to overthink every weird sensation. I’ve been living on mashed potatoes and yogurt, and honestly, I’m starting to miss crunchy food more than I thought possible. The waiting game is brutal.

Yeah, I’m guilty of that too. Every time I feel something odd, I end up convincing myself it’s a disaster. My dentist also gave me the “watch for swelling or fever” line, but honestly, it’s the random aches that mess with my head. I’ve started writing down what I feel and when, just to see if there’s an actual pattern or if I’m just spiraling. Still miss crunchy stuff though... chips are calling my name.

I totally relate - Googling every twinge just makes me more anxious. I used to be super paranoid, especially when my implant would ache randomly. One thing that helped was reminding myself that healing isn’t always a straight line. I’d jot down notes too, and sometimes noticed the pain faded once I stopped fixating on it. Crunchy stuff is the hardest to resist for sure... I caved and tried soft tortilla chips way before I was supposed to, but luckily no disaster.

I get the whole “don’t obsess over it” thing, but honestly, tracking every weird twinge is the only way I don’t lose my mind. If I don’t write it down, I just end up doomscrolling Reddit at 2am. Anyone else find that logging stuff actually helps, not hurts? Also, I’m still salty that popcorn is basically banned for life...

Yeah, I totally get it - logging every sensation actually calms me down too. If I just try to ignore stuff, my brain makes it worse. The popcorn ban stings... I still sneak a couple kernels sometimes but then regret it immediately.
