Yeah, dairy was tricky for me too—felt like it made swallowing even harder. I stuck mostly to avocado or peanut butter smoothies. Roasted veggies sound good though, wish I'd thought of that earlier...

Did roasted veggies blend smoothly enough for you? I tried blending carrots once and ended up with tiny bits that irritated my throat—made me nervous about trying again. Maybe I didn't roast them long enough or something... Did you have to strain yours afterward, or was it fine straight from the blender?
I've blended roasted carrots before, and yeah, they can be tricky. Found that roasting them until they're super soft—almost mushy—helps a lot. Didn't need to strain after that, but adding extra broth or water made it smoother too.
I've been blending pretty much everything lately (thanks, jaw surgery ), but carrots have been my nemesis. Roasting them till they're mushy sounds like a good tip though—haven't tried that yet. Usually, I end up with tiny carrot chunks no matter how long I blend... and trust me, those little bits are NOT fun when you're supposed to be on liquids only.
Speaking of tricky veggies, has anyone figured out spinach? Every time I blend it, it turns into this weird, stringy mess. Is there some secret spinach-blending hack I'm missing, or am I doomed to green string soup until I can chew again?
Spinach strings are the absolute worst, totally feel your pain there. The trick I've found is freezing fresh spinach first, then blending it while still frozen—it breaks down way smoother. Hang in there, liquid life gets easier... eventually.
