[Closed] my dentist warned me vaping could mess up my smile, but I didn't think much of it until yesterday.

Minty stuff can definitely be sneaky harsh—I had the same issue with toothpaste causing sensitivity. Switching to a gentler flavor (like cinnamon or mild fruit) helped me tons. Might be worth trying something similar with vaping flavors too... could ease things up a bit.

I completely agree with this suggestion. Mint flavors, while refreshing, can indeed exacerbate sensitivity issues—I've seen this frequently with toothpaste as well. Additionally, vaping itself can dry out your mouth, reducing saliva flow and potentially leading to increased tooth decay or gum irritation. Staying hydrated and perhaps choosing milder, less irritating flavors could make a noticeable difference. It's always wise to pay attention to these subtle signs before they become bigger dental concerns...

Switching flavors definitely helped my son too. He was vaping mint for a while, and he started complaining about his gums feeling sore and sensitive. At first, I thought he was just brushing too hard or something, but our dentist mentioned the same thing—minty flavors can sometimes irritate gums and make sensitivity worse. We switched him over to a mild berry flavor, and within a couple weeks he said it felt way better.

I also noticed he wasn't drinking enough water, which probably didn't help with the dryness issue. Reminding him to stay hydrated throughout the day seemed to make a difference as well. Honestly, I was skeptical at first that flavor could matter so much, but seeing the improvement firsthand convinced me. It's worth experimenting a bit to find something gentler on your mouth...and definitely keep an eye on hydration.

Totally agree about the hydration thing—I noticed the same when I used to vape. My gums felt tight and irritated, especially with minty or menthol flavors. Switching to something more mellow (I went with vanilla) made a noticeable difference. Also, keeping sugar-free gum handy helped me a lot; chewing it seemed to stimulate saliva and ease dryness. Might be worth a shot if your son still struggles occasionally...worked for me anyway.

Yeah, hydration definitely plays a big role. My daughter had similar issues when she was vaping regularly—her gums got pretty sensitive and inflamed. She found that cutting back on acidic flavors (like citrus or sour candy) helped a lot too. Dentist mentioned those flavors can be harsher on your mouth lining. She also started rinsing with alcohol-free mouthwash to soothe irritation, and it seemed to help. Might be another thing to consider if dryness or irritation keeps popping up...
