Strawberry toothpaste, now that takes me back. I used to think brushing with anything but mint was for kids, but honestly, some days you just need something gentle. I’m with you on the shower brushing—tried it once and nearly dropped my dentures down the drain. If I’m feeling rough, I’ll just sit on the edge of the bed with a washcloth and a cup of water. Not glamorous, but it works.

Strawberry toothpaste always reminds me of the stuff they’d use at the dentist when I was a kid—felt like a treat. I totally get what you mean about gentle flavors. I’ve met folks who swear by brushing in the shower, but honestly, I’ve seen more than one partial denture take a tumble. Sitting on the bed with a washcloth sounds practical, honestly. Ever tried those little disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste already in them? Some patients tell me they’re a lifesaver when energy’s low, but I’m curious if they really feel clean enough.

Those disposable brushes are wild—I’ve only used them a couple of times, usually on long train rides or something where a full brush routine just isn’t happening. They’re okay for getting rid of that “fuzzy teeth” feeling, but I can’t say my mouth ever feels as fresh as after a proper brush-and-rinse. Maybe it’s psychological? Or maybe there’s just not enough friction from those tiny bristles.

I totally relate to the gentle flavors thing—mint is usually too much for me if I’m already feeling low energy or nauseous. Strawberry or bubblegum brings back that weirdly comforting dentist vibe for sure. Sometimes even cinnamon toothpaste is less overwhelming than the classic “arctic blast” stuff.

Brushing in the shower never worked out for me either. Every time I tried, I’d end up dropping the toothbrush at least once and then get paranoid about mold or whatever lurking on the shower floor. The idea of sitting on the bed with a washcloth actually sounds pretty clever... never thought about that before, but it seems way less risky than balancing over a slippery sink when you’re exhausted.

Has anyone tried using mouthwash as a temporary stand-in when brushing feels impossible? I know it doesn’t replace brushing, but on days where standing up is a struggle, swishing some mouthwash and running a wet washcloth over my teeth has been my bare-minimum backup plan. Not ideal, but sometimes you gotta pick your battles.

Curious if anyone’s found any super low-effort hacks that still feel like you’re doing *something* for your teeth, especially on those rough days.
