Brushing in the shower’s a solid hack too; somehow it just feels less tedious when you’re already multitasking. Guilt is rough, but you’re right—missing here and there won’t wreck your te...

I totally get the “lower the bar to keep moving” thing. Honestly, there were weeks last winter where just getting out of bed felt like a win, let alone doing the whole brush-floss-rinse routine. I tried the by-the-bed trick you mentioned, but weirdly, it made me feel more guilty when I’d see the toothbrush and still skip it. Maybe that’s just me.

One thing that’s helped (besides switching to a vanilla-mint toothpaste that tastes more like dessert) is buying those cheap disposable toothbrushes from the dollar store. I stash them everywhere—my work bag, the car, even my coat pocket. That way, if I’m out or just can’t face the bathroom, I can do a quick brush wherever. Not perfect, but like you said, consistency over perfection.

Also, brushing in the shower is genius. It’s like tricking my brain into thinking it’s just part of washing up, not another chore. Funny how something so small can make a difference when you’re struggling.

Can relate to the “toothbrush guilt” thing—sometimes just seeing it makes me want to hide under the covers. I’m a fan of brushing in the shower too. It’s like, if I’m already wet and half awake, why not? Stashing brushes everywhere is clever, though I always end up losing track and finding one in my hoodie pocket weeks later. Vanilla-mint toothpaste sounds weirdly tempting... Might have to try that next time.

Honestly, this made me laugh—I've found a rogue toothbrush in my gym bag before and just stared at it like, “How did you get here?” Brushing in the shower is my go-to when I’m super low. Sometimes I even put on a song to make it feel less like a chore. Haven’t tried vanilla-mint yet but now I'm curious... does it taste more like dessert or toothpaste?

Funny, I started doing that after my knee surgery—made life much easier. As for vanilla-mint, it’s more toothpaste than dessert, but not as harsh. I’d say it’s a nice change when you’re tired of the usual flavors.

That’s actually something my kid’s therapist suggested for “stacking” habits, especially on rough days. Makes sense, less steps to remember. Have you noticed it helps with motivation, or is it more about convenience? Also, about the vanilla-mint—does your mouth feel as clean after using it? My daughter’s picky about texture and taste, so I’m always hunting for options that don’t set off her sensory stuff.
