Adventures in toothland: calming kids at the dentist
Last week I took my niece to the dentist and she was super nervous, clutching her stuffed bunny like it was a lifeline. So I started making up this silly story about Princess Sparkletooth and her brave adventures in Toothland...worked wonders, she totally relaxed. Anyone else got creative tricks like this?

That's adorable - I remember when my son had his first dentist visit, he was terrified. I ended up pretending the dental chair was a spaceship and the dentist was an astronaut checking his teeth before launch. Worked like a charm... kids have amazing imaginations.
