CAN CHANGING WHAT YOU EAT ACTUALLY FIX CAVITIES?

I've been reading lately about people claiming they reversed their cavities just by tweaking their diet. Um, sounds kinda wild, but apparently cutting sugar, adding more minerals like calcium and magnesium, and eating vitamin-rich foods (think leafy greens, eggs, bone broth) can help remineralize teeth. I've started doing this myself—cutting back on sweets (painful, I know), upping my veggies, and even trying cod liver oil supplements. Teeth feel cleaner for sure, but too soon to tell if it's really working. Anyone tried something similar or got better tips?

Totally get what you're saying here—I've been down this road myself. A couple years back, my dentist pointed out some early cavities forming, and I decided to give dietary changes a shot before jumping straight into fillings. I cut way back on processed sugars (yeah, it hurt at first), started eating more leafy greens, and added bone broth regularly. I also made sure to get enough vitamin D and K2, since they're supposed to help calcium absorption.

Honestly, after about 6 months, my dentist was surprised—the areas she was watching hadn't progressed at all, and she said they actually looked stronger. Now, I'm not claiming diet alone can completely reverse deep cavities (sometimes you really do need professional intervention), but from my experience, it definitely helps halt or slow down the damage. Keep at it, you're probably onto something good here...just give it some time!

That's really encouraging to hear, but I'm still a bit hesitant about relying on diet alone—especially when it comes to my kid's teeth. Maybe dietary tweaks help prevent cavities, but once they're already there...I dunno, I'd feel safer combining it with regular dental check-ups just in case.
