I stumbled on this random article yesterday saying that drinking water regularly can actually help protect your teeth. Apparently, it washes away sugars and acids from food, which keeps cavities at bay... kinda makes sense when you think about it. But I never really thought of plain old water as something that actively helps dental health, you know? Anyone heard more about this or got some extra info to share?
Yeah, I've heard something similar from my kid's dentist. She mentioned that tap water, especially if it's fluoridated, can actually strengthen tooth enamel over time. I never really thought about it either, but it makes senseβwater rinses away the leftover bits of food and sugars that bacteria love. Plus, it's way better than sugary drinks or juices. We've been trying to encourage our little one to drink more water lately... fingers crossed it helps at the next dental check-up.
