Just got back from my dentist and she said my teeth are looking amazing for my age (mid-50s here). Honestly, I was bracing myself for the dreaded denture talk, but nope—she gave me a thumbs-up. I've been flossing like crazy, cut down on sugary stuff (well, mostly), and switched to an electric toothbrush a few years ago. Seems like it's paying off. Curious if anyone else has had good luck with certain routines or habits to keep their original teeth going strong?

That's great to hear—sounds like you're doing all the right things. My dentist mentioned something similar when I took my daughter in recently. She emphasized that consistency is key, especially with flossing and regular cleanings. Also, she suggested fluoride mouthwash as an extra protective measure. We've added that into our routine, and so far, no cavities or major issues. Seems like small habits really do add up over time.

You're definitely on the right track with those habits. I've been pretty diligent myself—electric toothbrush, flossing nightly, and regular cleanings—and it's paid off. One thing I'd add is being mindful of acidic foods and drinks. I used to sip lemon water all day thinking it was healthy, but my dentist pointed out it was eroding my enamel. Who knew? Anyway, moderation seems key...but sounds like you're already ahead of the game.

You're spot-on about the acidic drinks thing—I learned that lesson the hard way too. When I had braces, my orthodontist explained step-by-step how acids weaken enamel, especially around brackets. I was sipping soda and juice without thinking much of it...big mistake. Thankfully, switching to water and rinsing after meals made a huge difference. Sounds like you're already doing great though, keep it up!
