Teeth getting more touchy as I get older
I swear, lately just sipping my morning coffee or biting into an apple makes me cringe. Didn't used to be this way, but now it's like my teeth decided to get super sensitive out of nowhere. I'm not even talking about ice cream or anything extreme - just regular everyday stuff. Tried switching toothpaste brands and even bought one of those fancy "sensitivity" mouthwashes, but honestly, not seeing much improvement.
It's frustrating because I never had dental issues before, and now suddenly it's like my teeth are on strike or something, lol. Wondering if this is just a normal part of getting older or if I'm the lucky winner of some weird tooth lottery. Anyone else dealing with this kind of thing?

Totally get where you're coming from - it's super frustrating when your teeth suddenly decide to get sensitive out of nowhere. I've been there myself, and honestly, it can be a combination of things. Sometimes it's just natural wear and tear as we age (yay us, right?), but other times it could be enamel erosion or even gum recession.
Switching toothpaste was a good first step, but have you tried sticking with one sensitivity toothpaste consistently for at least a few weeks? I found that jumping between brands too quickly didn't really help me much. Also, brushing technique matters more than you'd think - if you're brushing too hard or using a toothbrush that's too firm, it can actually make sensitivity worse by wearing down your enamel or irritating your gums.
One thing that helped me personally was switching to an extra-soft toothbrush and being super gentle when brushing. It felt weird at first (like I wasn't cleaning enough), but after a couple weeks, I noticed a real difference. Might be worth giving it a shot if you haven't already...
Yeah, I've noticed the same thing lately. I switched to a sensitivity toothpaste too, but honestly, the prices on some of those brands make my wallet hurt more than my teeth, lol. I've been trying a cheaper store-brand version - seems okay so far. Has anyone found budget-friendly sensitivity toothpastes that actually work long-term? I'm all ears...
I've been using the Aldi brand sensitivity toothpaste for a few months now, and honestly, it's been surprisingly decent. I was skeptical at first (cheap toothpaste always makes me nervous, lol), but my teeth feel way less sensitive lately. Might be worth giving it a shot?
