What does an ultrasonic cleaner add to denture brushing?
Does an ultrasonic cleaner remove anything that careful brushing tends to miss, or is its main advantage making cleaning easier for someone with limited hand dexterity? I’m also unsure what cleaning still needs to be done by hand after using one.
Would the advice differ for a full denture versus a partial with metal components? Which cleaning solutions are safe for each, and where should the denture’s material be checked before choosing a method?

For a partial with metal clasps, don’t assume a cleaner that’s suitable for an all-acrylic denture is suitable for the whole appliance. Some solutions can corrode or discolor metal components. Check the denture’s care instructions, or ask the dental office what materials it contains and which cleaners are compatible before choosing one.
