We went through the braces phase with my daughter too, and honestly, cordless was a lifesaver. Yeah, countertop models might have more oomph, but the hassle every night...ugh. We switched to cordless halfway through treatment, and it was totally worth it—so much easier for her to handle herself. Adjustable pressure is plenty strong enough for braces in my experience, so I'd say give it a shot. Anything that makes bedtime routines smoother is a win in my book.

We actually went the countertop route first, thinking more power meant better cleaning. But honestly, it ended up collecting dust because it was just too bulky and messy to deal with every night. Switched to cordless and never looked back—way easier, and my teeth still felt super clean. Curious though, has anyone found a cordless model with a battery life that actually lasts more than a few days? Charging constantly is my only gripe...

Totally get you on the constant charging hassle... I had the same issue until I switched to the newer Waterpik Ion. It's cordless but sits on a compact charging base—lasts me almost two weeks between charges. Pretty neat compromise!

Totally agree about the Ion—it's a solid choice for battery life. I've also had good experiences with the Philips Sonicare cordless model. It easily lasts me around 10 days per charge, and I appreciate the compact design for travel. Honestly, cordless models have come a long way recently... definitely worth revisiting if charging hassles were your main issue before.

I tried a cordless Waterpik a couple years ago, and honestly, it stressed me out. Maybe I just had bad luck, but mine always died mid-use (usually while I was awkwardly hunched over the sink). Glad to hear they've improved battery life since then though. I've stuck with countertop models ever since—yeah, they're bulky, but at least I know it'll power through the whole flossing session without leaving me stranded with half my teeth done...
