Interesting, I've been debating this myself. My kiddo has braces, and we've been using a cordless one mainly because it's easier to handle and less messy for him. But now I'm wondering if switching to countertop might help more with his gum health... Did you notice a big difference in how messy or easy to use the countertop one was compared to cordless? Just trying to figure out if it's worth the extra hassle, haha.

Haha, I hear ya on the hassle factor. I've tried both, and honestly, the countertop one isn't as messy as you'd think once you get the hang of it. At first, I sprayed water everywhere (my mirror looked like a car wash gone wrong), but after a few days, it was smooth sailing. Gum-wise, I did notice my dentist seemed happier with me afterward...so might be worth giving it a shot if your kiddo's gums need extra TLC. Good luck!

Totally relate to the mirror situation...my bathroom looked like a splash zone at SeaWorld the first couple days. Did your kiddo find the countertop one intimidating at all? Mine was hesitant at first (the noise and water pressure kinda freaked her out), but after some practice, she actually prefers it now. Hang in there—it gets easier after a few tries, promise.

Yeah, mine was pretty wary at first too. The countertop model we got sounded like a mini jet engine, and the first few times she jumped back like it was gonna bite her. But honestly, after a week or so, she got used to it and now it's just part of the nightly routine. I still prefer cordless myself—less clutter and easier to maneuver—but countertop definitely wins on water capacity. Did you notice a difference in effectiveness between the two?

Haha, the mini jet engine comparison is spot-on. The first time we turned ours on, my son gave it such a suspicious side-eye I thought he'd never go near it again. Took a bit of coaxing (and a fair amount of splashing around) before he warmed up to it.

As far as effectiveness goes, I honestly didn't notice a huge difference between cordless and countertop. The countertop definitely has more oomph in terms of water pressure and lasts longer without refills, but the cordless gets the job done just fine for everyday use—especially if you're short on bathroom counter real estate like we are. I keep the countertop one around mainly for deeper cleans or stubborn popcorn kernels (those little demons...). But day-to-day, cordless is my lazy go-to because it's just less hassle.

Either way, anything that gets kiddos flossing regularly without drama is a win in my book.
