Had my wisdom teeth out last week and the dentist recommended this numbing gel stuff beforehand. Honestly, it helped way more than I expected, barely felt the needle. Anyone else tried something similar, or was I just lucky?

Glad it worked out for you, but honestly, I think you might've just gotten lucky. I tried a similar numbing gel before my fillings last year, and it barely made a difference. Maybe my dentist was stingy with the stuff or something, but I still felt that needle pinch pretty clearly. Ended up wishing I'd saved the extra cash and just toughed it out.

Personally, I think the anxiety around dental procedures is more mental than physical anyway. Last time, I just popped in my earbuds, blasted some music, and closed my eyesβ€”worked better than any gel or spray I've tried. Plus, it's free... and I'm all about saving money where I can.
