Protein powder was a lifesaver for my kid after oral surgery too. We went with whey isolate because it's super smooth and dissolves easily—no gritty texture or sneaky bits left behind. Totally agree on chia seeds though...those things are like glitter, impossible to get rid of once they're stuck somewhere. Flaxseed is definitely the safer bet, but honestly, we skipped seeds altogether for the first week just to be extra cautious. Better safe than sorry, right?

Did you find that brand mattered much for the smoothness? I've noticed some whey isolates can still get clumpy or chalky, especially the cheaper ones—which is frustrating when you're on a tighter budget. Any recommendations for affordable brands that mix well without needing a blender? I don't want to spend extra money just to avoid lumps...

I've definitely noticed brand makes a difference. Some cheaper isolates I've tried were chalky no matter how much I stirred. One affordable option that's surprisingly smooth is MyProtein's isolate—mixes easily with just a spoon, no blender needed. Worth checking out if budget's tight...

Totally agree about MyProtein—it's pretty smooth. Another decent one I've tried is Dymatize ISO100. Bit pricier, but mixes super easy with just a fork...and trust me, I'm lazy enough to have tested this thoroughly, lol. Good luck with the surgery!

Haha, relatable! ISO100 was my go-to after wisdom teeth extraction—super gentle on the stomach. Just stick to room temp or cooler liquids, warm shakes feel weird post-surgery...good luck!
