We’re in the same boat over here. My kid’s got the fixed bottom wire, and I swear, flossing around that thing is like playing Operation on hard mode. The first week, we both just stared at the floss and the wire like…how exactly is this supposed to work? After snapping a couple pieces (and maybe muttering a few choice words under my breath), we ended up grabbing those little brush things too. Game changer.

I will say, there’s something comforting about knowing the retainer can’t just disappear into thin air—my daughter managed to lose her clear top retainer in less than 24 hours once. Still not sure how. But yeah, cleaning around the glued-in one takes patience and a steady hand. If anyone invents an easier way to do it, sign me up.

Funny how something so tiny can cause so much drama in the bathroom every night...
