I get why people go for crowns after a root canal, but is it always necessary? I skipped it on a molar a couple years ago because there was still a lot of tooth left. Haven’t had any issues yet... maybe I just got lucky?

I’ve wondered the same thing, honestly. I skipped the crown on a premolar since it seemed solid, and it’s still holding up after a couple years. Did your dentist say it was risky to leave it? Sometimes I feel like they push crowns just in case, but maybe not always needed if the tooth’s still strong.
