I've been using one of those enamel-strengthening toothpastes for about two months now, and honestly, it seems to help a bit with sensitivity. Not a miracle fix or anything, but worth trying if citrus is your thing...

Totally agree with you there—I've been using one of those toothpastes for about six months now. At first, I didn't notice much, but gradually my sensitivity improved. Now I can finally enjoy ice cream again without wincing... small victories, right?

That's great to hear your sensitivity improved over time. I had a similar experience after my braces came off—my teeth were so sensitive to cold drinks and ice cream, it was honestly frustrating. I tried a bunch of different toothpastes, including one citrus-flavored one someone recommended here. Didn't really expect much, but after a few weeks, I noticed I wasn't flinching as much when drinking iced coffee. It wasn't dramatic or anything, but definitely noticeable.

Funny thing is, I wasn't even a big citrus fan before, but the flavor kinda grew on me. Now it's my go-to toothpaste, haha. Anyway, glad you're finally able to enjoy ice cream again without discomfort. Those small victories really do add up over time...

Did you notice any sensitivity issues right after the braces came off, or did it take a while to kick in? My daughter just got hers removed last week, and she's already complaining about cold drinks. I'm glad to hear yours improved over time though... gives me some hope. Maybe we'll try that citrus toothpaste too—worth a shot if it worked for you. Small victories definitely matter, especially when you're dealing with kids who just want their ice cream without drama, haha.

Just a quick heads-up about citrus toothpaste—my dentist actually advised against it when I mentioned sensitivity. She explained that citrus flavors can sometimes be acidic and might irritate sensitive teeth even more. We switched to a gentle fluoride toothpaste specifically for sensitive teeth, and it made a noticeable difference within a couple of weeks.

My son had the exact same issue after his braces came off. He was thrilled to finally eat popcorn again, but cold stuff was a real struggle at first. It took about two or three weeks before he stopped complaining every time he drank something chilly. We also tried using lukewarm water for brushing instead of cold, which seemed to help a bit.

I totally agree about small victories though... when he finally ate ice cream without wincing, you'd think he'd won the lottery, haha. Hang in there—it does get better pretty quickly!
