RE: Keeping those stitches clean after a tooth pull - what worked for me
I totally get being nervous with that syringe. I actually used it, but only after a few days when things felt less sore. Just aimed gently, nothing too forceful. Swishing alone didn’t quite cut it for me, especially when...
RE: How long did your bridge replacement actually take?
I couldn’t agree more. I remember those trays - always felt like I was trying to swallow a mouthful of putty. My last bridge, they used the scanner and it was over before I knew it. Maybe 15 minutes, tops, and no mess. I...
RE: Quick fixes that helped me survive dry socket pain
I get what you mean about saltwater rinses, but in my case, they actually soothed things a little. I made sure the water was just barely warm - too hot or cold made it worse. Maybe it depends on how sensitive your gums ...
RE: Finally feeling confident about my smile after years of hiding it
You’re spot on about the fine print - those “interest-free” deals can get sneaky if you miss even one payment. I’ve always had better luck just laying it out and saying, “What’s your best price if I pay cash?” Like you s...
RE: Getting comfortable with a big smile even when your gums show
I get what you mean about the anxiety before dental visits. Even after decades of appointments, I still get that weird feeling walking in, like they’re going to find something “terrible.” But you’re spot on - those hygie...
RE: Weirdly, chewing on the other side after a root canal can make your jaw sore
It’s funny, I used to think I was being “lazy” for not chewing on the fixed side right away. But honestly, every time I rushed it, I’d get that annoying jaw tension that just wouldn’t quit. These days, I take it easy - s...
RE: Getting comfortable with a big smile even when your gums show
I used to worry about my gums showing too, especially after I got dentures - felt like my whole mouth was on display. Funny thing is, the more I tried to hide it, the more awkward my smile looked. My grandkids always say...
RE: Do you think Aligners brand really matters for your teeth conditions?
I’ve had aligners from two different brands over the last decade (don’t ask, my teeth seem to have a mind of their own). I really think the brand can make a difference, especially if you grind or clench at night. The fir...
RE: Sealants at the Dentist vs. School Clinic: Which Is Better for Your Wallet?
I hear you, but I’ve always felt more comfortable in a regular dental office, even if it costs a bit more. Had a bad experience at a clinic once - felt rushed, didn’t get much info. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but the ...
RE: What’s your go-to after jaw surgery: wax, salt water, or just toughing it out?
That’s exactly how I felt about wax, too. I tried every trick - drying things off, warming it up, even pressing it in with a spoon once (don’t ask) - and it just slid right off as soon as I started talking. Salt water, t...
RE: The great dental quest: searching for planet-friendly floss
That’s exactly how I felt with the first batch I tried - like the floss was about to snap any second, and it just didn’t get between my crowded teeth. I’ve stuck with regular string for years, even though I’d love to dit...
RE: Getting my bite back on track: anyone else with a weird jaw journey?
That hyper-awareness is so real. I swear, once you start focusing on your bite and jaw, it’s impossible to un-notice every little shift or sound. I’ve been down the nightguard road for years - sometimes it feels like a l...
RE: How Has Getting Braces as an Adult Worked Out for You?
I hear you on the gadgets - honestly, I was stubborn about keeping things “old school,” but my mouth just wouldn’t cooperate. I tried to tough it out, but after a few shredded cheeks, I caved and started using the wax an...
RE: Finally stopped my teeth from wiggling - here’s what worked for me
I hear you on the “miracle” moments not always sticking around. I’ve been down that road more times than I can count - get an adjustment, feel like a new person, then a week later my jaw’s popping and my neck’s stiff aga...
