Honestly, I got my teeth professionally whitened last summer and figured the results would fade way faster than they have. I was expecting to be back to my old coffee-stained self by now, but nope—still looking pretty bright. I do try to avoid red wine and black tea (not always successfully, but you know...), and I brush with one of those whitening toothpastes a few times a week, but nothing crazy.
I was super nervous about sensitivity, but that only lasted a few days. Now it’s just nice being able to smile in photos without feeling self-conscious.
Curious if anyone else has had results stick around like this, or did it fade quicker for you? Did you do anything special to keep the whiteness, or was it just luck?
I wish I could say my whitening lasted that long, but honestly, mine faded way faster—maybe six months before I noticed the old stains creeping back. I was super careful, too... even gave up my nightly black tea for a while (which was miserable). Maybe it’s different for everyone? I do wonder if age or enamel thickness plays a part. I’m always so nervous to overdo the whitening toothpaste because of sensitivity, so maybe I’m just not aggressive enough.
