My little guy is 7 months old and he's been drooling like crazy, chewing on everything (including my phone charger, RIP), and waking up crying more than usual. I can feel a tiny bump on his gums but no tooth yet. Is this normal or should I be worried? I've heard teething can be rough but um...how long does this stage usually last? Any tips to survive this madness appreciated lol.

Reading your post took me right back to when my grandson was teething...boy, do I remember those days. He was exactly the same—drooling buckets, gnawing on anything within reach (my poor glasses didn't survive that phase either), and fussing all night long. Honestly, it sounds pretty normal to me. That little bump you're feeling is probably the tooth just getting ready to break through. My grandson seemed to go through cycles—he'd be miserable for a week or two, then we'd get a short break before the next tooth started making its appearance.

One thing that helped us was keeping a few damp washcloths in the freezer. He loved chewing on those, and they seemed to soothe his gums better than most of the fancy teethers we bought. Also, hang in there...it does get easier once those first few teeth pop through. But yeah, I totally feel you—teething can be rough on everyone involved (including innocent electronics and eyewear).
