RE: WHY DOES RED WINE ALWAYS FIND THE LIGHT COUCH?
Red wine and light couches... it’s like they’re magnets for each other. I remember when my daughter brought over a bottle for my birthday - one little slip and there it was, right in the middle of the cushion. I tried th...
RE: Keeping that post-root canal cheek puff under control
This is exactly where I get stuck every single time. I remember after my second root canal, I was so nervous about taking anything that might make the bleeding worse, but the swelling made it look like I’d been in a boxi...
RE: Keeping Chompers Strong: Dairy vs. Leafy Greens for Older Adults
That’s been my worry too - thought I was doing myself a favor with all that spinach, but turns out it’s not so simple. Broccoli’s been easier for me to digest, and I swear my dentist noticed less wear last checkup. Insur...
RE: Trying to keep my teeth happy with diabetes… anyone else struggle?
That made me laugh because I’ve had the same worry - chickpeas can be like eating gravel if they’re roasted too long. I’m always so paranoid about biting into anything hard now. After a crown popped off last year (just f...
RE: What signs help you identify poor aligner tracking early?
I can relate to that anxiety about tracking issues, especially since I’m always checking my aligners in the mirror, probably more than I should. That little gap at the edge or near the attachments makes me nervous every ...
RE: Little things that helped me cope after diagnosis
That’s the truth. I swear, the waiting room is where my nerves start doing gymnastics. I always feel like I’m stuck in a fishbowl, just counting every second. I tried the rubber band trick once but got self-conscious wit...
RE: Saw a story about sinus lifts getting more common - anyone else nervous?
I keep hearing “pay now or pay later” with these sinus lifts, and maybe that’s true for some folks, but I’ve met a few people who managed with other options. My neighbor actually got a second opinion and ended up with a ...
RE: Keeping a tooth alive after a root canal - anyone else paranoid?
I totally get what you mean about being on high alert after a root canal. I had one on a molar a few years back and every twinge or odd sensation made me nervous for months. My dentist did recommend a crown pretty quickl...
RE: WEIRD TRICKS PEOPLE SWEAR BY FOR WOBBLY TEETH
I remember my dad actually tried the string-on-the-door trick with me as a kid, and I still get a little queasy thinking about it... It didn’t even work, just made me terrified of doors for a while. These days, I’m all a...
RE: Worried about 6 root canals
Spacing them out made a huge difference for me too. I tried doing two close together years ago, and honestly, I just felt drained for days. The mental buildup is always worse than the actual procedure - my stomach does f...
RE: How often do you actually need to get braces tightened?
I can definitely relate to that anxious feeling when the schedule gets off track. I remember once I had to push my appointment back almost 10 weeks because of a family emergency and then a mix-up with my ortho’s office. ...
RE: When the first fix doesn’t stick: a dental do-over adventure
I hear you on being skeptical when something doesn’t last. I had a crown put in a few years back and it came loose after just two weeks - talk about anxiety. Dentist blamed my “bite,” but I still wonder if it was rushed....
RE: How I pack and care for my retainer when traveling - step by step
Had a little chuckle about the “hotel pillows have eaten more retainers than you’d think” bit - can confirm, I once found mine wedged behind a nightstand two days after I thought it was gone for good. Still cringe rememb...
