I'm getting kinda annoyed trying to figure out what to eat every day that's soft enough not to mess up my jaw. Seriously, if I eat any more mashed potatoes or yogurt, I'm gonna lose it. Anyone else stuck eating mushy stuff 24/7?

Ugh, I feel you on the mashed potatoes burnout. When I had my wisdom teeth out, I thought I'd be clever and blend up regular foods—turns out blended chicken soup is actually pretty decent if you season it right. Also, scrambled eggs were a lifesaver for me. Ever tried oatmeal with different toppings? It helped break up the monotony a bit...though honestly, by day five, even oatmeal was pushing it. Hang in there—it won't last forever.

Totally relate to this. When I had jaw surgery a couple years back, I thought I'd be fine with smoothies and soups for a few weeks...but by day four, I was dreaming about crunchy tacos and pizza slices. Blended chicken soup sounds way better than some of my experiments though—I tried blending spaghetti once, thinking it would taste the same. Spoiler alert: it did NOT. 😂

Scrambled eggs were definitely a lifesaver for me too, especially when I started adding cheese or avocado to mix things up. Have you tried sweet potatoes yet? They're soft enough to mash easily, but somehow felt different enough from regular mashed potatoes that it helped break up the boredom a bit. Also, yogurt with granola (let it soak a bit so it's not crunchy) or applesauce sprinkled with cinnamon made things feel less repetitive.

Honestly though, you're right—by the end of week one, even my favorite foods were losing their charm. But hang in there; before you know it you'll be back to eating normally again and this will just be a funny story you tell people later on. You've totally got this!

Haha, blended spaghetti sounds like a brave move...can't say I'd be up for that experiment myself. Sweet potatoes were definitely a win for me too—especially roasted and mashed with a bit of cinnamon. Have you tried oatmeal yet? It's filling and you can mix in peanut butter or bananas to keep things interesting. How much longer do you have to stick with soft foods?

Blended spaghetti...yikes, that's dedication right there. My daughter had jaw surgery last year, and we went through the soft-food marathon too. Honestly, oatmeal was a lifesaver—especially with some honey and sliced bananas mixed in. She got tired of yogurt pretty fast, but smoothies were a big hit. We experimented with avocado, spinach, berries, and even a bit of cocoa powder sometimes to switch things up.

One thing that really helped was savory soups blended smooth—like butternut squash or creamy tomato basil. It felt more like a real meal and less like baby food, you know? Also, scrambled eggs cooked soft with cheese melted in were gentle enough on her jaw and gave her some protein. Hang in there, it does get easier once you find a few go-to meals that don't feel like punishment. How much longer do you have to stick with the soft diet?
