Hypothetically, if you tried extracting some herbal stuff at home—like oils or tinctures—and it went kinda wrong (maybe too strong or weird smell or something), how would you fix it?

I can completely relate to your experience. I recently tried making a peppermint oil tincture at home for headaches, and let's just say it didn't exactly go as planned. Even after dilution, the cooling sensation was way stronger than expected and left my skin feeling oddly tingly for hours. Your solution of adding cinnamon to mask bitterness is clever though—I hadn't thought of that.

"My mouth felt numb for hours, and the taste was intense enough to make me reconsider my DIY ambitions altogether."

Glad you managed to salvage it in the end... trial and error seems inevitable with homemade remedies, doesn't it?

Yikes, I feel you on that peppermint oil mishap. I tried something similar once with lavender oil for my kiddo's bedtime routine—thought it'd be calming and gentle, right? Well, turns out even diluted lavender can be surprisingly potent. Poor thing ended up itchy and uncomfortable instead of sleepy. Felt terrible about it for days... but like you said, trial and error seems to be part of the DIY herbal journey.

Honestly, your cinnamon idea sounds pretty smart. I usually just panic and toss the whole batch when things go sideways, but maybe next time I'll try salvaging it somehow. Glad you managed to turn yours around though—gives me hope that these homemade remedies aren't always a lost cause.

Haha, lavender strikes again... been there, done that. I once got overly ambitious with eucalyptus oil thinking it'd clear up my kid's stuffy nose. Let's just say the whole house smelled like a koala sanctuary gone wrong, and bedtime turned into a sneeze-fest. Your cinnamon fix sounds clever though—usually I just dilute the heck out of it or pretend the whole thing never happened and quietly toss it. Glad you salvaged yours, gives me courage to maybe try again someday... maybe.

Haha, glad I'm not the only one quietly tossing failed experiments. I once tried making peppermint oil for headaches—ended up smelling like toothpaste for days. Anyone had luck neutralizing minty overload?

Haha, been there with the mint overload... honestly, sometimes just airing it out helps a bit. I once spilled peppermint extract on my hoodie—washing didn't help much, but hanging it outside for a day or two toned it down nicely. Worth a shot maybe?
