RE: Could morning tooth sensitivity be from clenching?
Morning timing by itself can’t identify clenching. On exam, a dentist can look for localized decay or exposed root surfaces, as well as tooth wear or tenderness that fits with clenching. Those causes can overlap, so how ...
RE: Swollen gums and braces: is this normal or just me?
Spicy chips totally mess with my mouth too, and I never know if it's the ingredients or just how rough they are on my gums. I get that tingling sometimes, especially after eating anything with a lot of flavor dust. Hones...
RE: Tooth Knocked Out At Playground - What Would You Do?
Yeah, I’m with you on that. I know they say putting it back yourself is better, but honestly, I’d be way too nervous to try. I keep thinking, what if I do it wrong and make things worse? Plus, the thought of the pain fre...
RE: Trying to keep my teeth happy with diabetes… anyone else struggle?
Totally get the cheese stick thing - sometimes I just want to crunch on something, but after chipping a tooth on a granola bar (never again), I’m super cautious now. I tried those rice cakes, but they’re so bland and my ...
RE: Why is it so hard to get consistent aftercare for a chipped tooth?
That’s exactly where I land every time. My kid chipped his tooth eating popcorn (of all things) and I basically spiraled, picturing the whole thing crumbling away if we didn’t deal with it ASAP. The dentist said it was “...
RE: Which Toothbrush Actually Makes a Difference?
I know what you mean about zoning out - even with all the bells and whistles, I still catch myself rushing. Honestly, I went back to a basic electric brush after my “smart” one died. Saved some cash, and as long as I act...
RE: GETTING THROUGH THE DENTIST CHAIR WITHOUT PANIC - ANYONE TRIED SEDATION?
I’ve thought about trying sedation, but honestly, the price tag kind of freaks me out almost as much as the dentist itself. My insurance barely covers regular cleanings, let alone anything “extra,” so I’ve been sticking ...
RE: What if your implant keeps bugging you - how would you cope?
Man, I relate to the panic over every little thing. I spent way too much time googling “implant pain” and convincing myself something was wrong - mostly because I didn’t want to pay for another appointment unless it was ...
RE: Middle of the night teething struggles - what actually helps?
This hits home. I was so anxious about not “doing enough” when my son started teething, especially after seeing all those ads and Instagram posts with parents swearing by the latest thing. I ended up with a drawer full o...
RE: What Actually Happens During a Full House Deep Clean?
I totally get that relief - my gums used to bleed so much I’d avoid crunchy stuff just in case. I was super nervous before my first deep clean because of the price and not knowing what to expect. Honestly, it stung a bit...
RE: How long did you wait for new dentures after extractions?
I totally get what you mean about the wait feeling endless. Eight weeks felt like a lifetime for me, and I was counting down every day. My dentist also talked about bone healing and gums shrinking, but honestly, I was so...
RE: Is It Okay to Suck My Thumb at Bedtime?
I totally relate to that feeling of “my brain just does what it wants” at night. I’ve tried the sock thing too - ended up half-awake, annoyed, and still with my thumb in my mouth. My dentist gave me the whole doom-and-gl...
RE: How soon did you get back to your routine after a tooth pulled?
I’m right there with you on the anxiety - dry socket was basically all I could think about for days after my extraction. I’d read way too many horror stories and honestly, the idea of dealing with extra appointments (and...
RE: LIVING WITH A WONKY BITE: INVISALIGN VS. BRACES?
That’s exactly what happened to me with Invisalign. I’d wake up with my jaw feeling sore, which freaked me out since I already worry about TMJ stuff. With braces, it was more that “tightened” pain after appointments, but...
