When should brushing near an extraction socket become less cautious?
How do brushing instructions usually change between the first day after an extraction and the days that follow? I’d like to understand the practical difference between cleaning the neighboring teeth while steering clear of the socket and gradually brushing closer as healing progresses.
Do stitches change how gently or closely you can brush around the area, or is it best to follow the same general approach unless the dentist says otherwise? If written instructions don’t explain when to move closer to the socket, what specific point would you clarify with the treating dentist?
