"But weirdly enough, after about a week, I started craving warm comfort foods like mashed potatoes and soup."

Totally relate to this! Cold stuff was great at first, but after a few days, I couldn't stand another smoothie. Warm broth and mashed potatoes felt like heaven. Honestly, it took me closer to three weeks before chewing crunchy stuff didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable. Everyone's different, though—my friend was eating chips after a week (still blows my mind). Just take it easy and listen to your body... you'll get there soon enough.

Three weeks, really? That's interesting... My son had his wisdom teeth out last month, and while he definitely craved warm comfort foods (especially mac and cheese and chicken noodle soup), he was back to eating crunchy snacks after about 10 days. He did mention that certain textures felt a bit weird at first, but nothing too uncomfortable.

I wonder if it depends on how complicated the extraction was or maybe how quickly each person heals? Our dentist mentioned something about age playing a role too—apparently younger patients tend to bounce back faster. Did anyone else notice this with their recovery? Curious if it's more of an individual thing or if age really makes a noticeable difference.

Wow, your son bounced back quick. For me it was definitely closer to the three-week mark too—maybe even four. But hey, I'm in my late 60s, so my body's probably like, "Crunchy stuff? Nahhh, let's stick to mashed potatoes." 😂 Age definitely plays a role, but I think extraction difficulty matters a ton as well. Mine were impacted, so the dentist had to really dig in there. Fun times...

Yeah, impacted teeth can definitely prolong recovery—no joke. Everyone heals differently, so don't stress if you're taking longer. Just keep up with gentle rinses and soft foods... you'll get there soon enough. Hang in there!

Totally agree, impacted teeth are rough. Mine took forever—almost three weeks before I felt semi-normal. Weirdly enough, ice packs helped me more than painkillers... everyone's different, just gotta stay patient and it'll pass eventually.
