"Warm stuff made me nervous at first, but cold smoothies were my lifesaver."

Haha, same here—I practically lived off milkshakes the first week. Weirdest part for me was randomly biting my cheek...felt like I'd forgotten how to eat properly. Took about three weeks before everything clicked again.

I totally get the milkshake thing, but honestly, cold stuff wasn't always great for my son. He complained that super cold smoothies actually made his jaw ache more at first...go figure. Room temperature soups and mashed potatoes were his go-to—he said they felt soothing without being too hot or too cold.

Haha, he did that too! But for him, it wasn't just biting his cheek—it was also feeling like food kept getting stuck back there. He'd spend ages rinsing and worrying about it. Took him nearly a month before he stopped obsessing over every bite. Guess everyone heals differently...but glad you're feeling better now.

I totally relate to the whole biting cheek thing...it's like your mouth forgets its own layout. For me, it wasn't smoothies or soups that helped most—it was actually scrambled eggs and lukewarm oatmeal. They were filling enough without being too much work. Honestly though, I think it took me about three weeks before eating felt natural again. Guess everyone's different, but patience definitely helps with this stuff. Glad he's doing better now!

Reading this brings back memories...I remember after my wisdom teeth came out, I thought mashed potatoes would be my savior. Nope. Somehow even those felt weird and uncomfortable at first. Took me about two weeks before I could eat without overthinking every bite. Did anyone else find that certain foods you expected to be easy actually weren't? Curious if it's just me who misjudged mashed potatoes, haha.

Mashed potatoes were tricky for my daughter too, actually...I think because they're so soft and sticky, they tended to get stuck in the extraction areas, which made her feel uncomfortable. We ended up switching over to lukewarm soups and smoothies for a few days, and that seemed easier. Did anyone else find temperature mattered more than texture at first? She definitely preferred room-temp foods over anything hot or cold for the first week or so.
