I feel you on the sweet stuff burnout. Smoothies were a lifesaver for me too at first, but after a couple days, I was craving anything salty or savory. Did you try mashed potatoes or scrambled eggs? Those were my go-to when I couldn't handle another sip of something sugary. Honestly, it took me about a week before I felt comfortable eating semi-normal foods again, and probably two weeks before I stopped thinking about every bite. How long has it been for you now? Hang in there—it does get better, even if it feels like forever right now.

Same here, smoothies got old real fast. Scrambled eggs were definitely helpful, but honestly, soup saved me even more. I got tired of mashed potatoes pretty quickly too—something about the texture just wasn't doing it for me after day three or so. Tomato soup and chicken broth felt like heaven after all the sweet stuff. Took about 5 days before I could manage some soft pasta or rice without worrying constantly about pain or stitches. It's been almost two weeks now, and I'm finally eating without overthinking every bite...mostly. Hang in there though, each day really does get easier.

Reading through this is honestly reassuring—I was starting to wonder if I was being overly cautious. Smoothies and yogurt worked for a day or two, but after that, I was desperate for something savory. Scrambled eggs were okay, but weirdly enough, they felt like they got stuck around the stitches (anyone else experience that?). Soup was my go-to as well, especially cream of mushroom—warm but not hot, which seemed to help ease discomfort more than cold stuff did.

Now I'm about a week post-removal and still haven't dared pasta or rice yet. Kind of nervous about grains getting stuck or irritating the healing sites. Did you have any issues with that, or am I overthinking it? Also, when did you feel comfortable chewing on both sides again? I'm still babying the side where they had to do more work, and it's getting old fast...

Yeah, eggs did the same for me—super annoying feeling. I waited about two weeks before trying rice or pasta... grains made me nervous too. You're definitely not overthinking it.

Yeah, eggs and rice are notorious for that—tiny bits just love getting caught around stitches. It's partly because the soft texture lets them mold into those little gaps easily. Usually, rinsing gently with warm salt water after meals helps dislodge food particles without irritating the healing area. Most people start feeling more normal around two weeks, but honestly, it varies a lot. Hang in there... it gets better pretty quick once the stitches dissolve or come out.
