"Weirdly, lukewarm mashed potatoes became my best friend."

Haha, mashed potatoes are a classic recovery food for a reason—soft, comforting, and easy on the gums. Two weeks sounds about right for most people, though it really can vary a lot. I've seen patients bounce back in just a few days (your daughter's superhero genes, maybe?), while others take longer depending on swelling, how impacted the teeth were, or even just personal pain tolerance. Wisdom teeth definitely have a sneaky way of surprising you...just when you think you're healing faster than expected, you bite down wrong and remember exactly why crunchy foods are off-limits. Hang in there—you're past the worst of it now.

I remember mashed potatoes being a lifesaver too, but weirdly enough, pudding cups were my go-to comfort food. Took me about 10 days before I felt even remotely normal again. I thought I was doing great around day 5, then made the mistake of trying some pasta...big nope. Patience really is key—one day you're miserable, and the next you're suddenly eating pizza again without even thinking about it. Hang in there, you're almost through!

Haha, I feel this. Pasta got me too—thought I'd be clever and make mac and cheese around day 4. Big mistake. Even the tiny noodles felt like chewing gravel. Honestly, I was pretty anxious about dry sockets or infections, so I stuck to smoothies and yogurt way longer than necessary. Took me almost two weeks before I dared to eat anything remotely crunchy again. And even then, I chewed super cautiously on one side, convinced something terrible would happen if I wasn't careful enough.

You're totally right about patience being key though. One day you're convinced you'll never eat normally again, and then suddenly you're halfway through a burger without even realizing it happened. Hang tight—sounds like you're almost out of the woods.

Haha, pasta seems innocent enough, but it's sneaky! I always tell my patients to ease back into solids slowly—soft scrambled eggs or mashed potatoes first. You're right though, patience is everything...soon enough you'll be crunching chips without a second thought. Hang in there!

I thought mac and cheese would be safe too, but nope—big mistake. Day 5 I tried scrambled eggs and even that felt weird. Honestly, took me about two weeks before eating felt completely normal again. Everyone heals differently though...but yeah, pasta is definitely sneakier than it looks.
