RE: How I pack and care for my retainer when traveling - step by step
I totally relate to the “iffy about gadgets” feeling. I used to think all those UV things were just another way to spend money, but after my retainer survived a fall into a gas station sink (don’t ask...), I decided anyt...
RE: Making the Switch: My Steps for Choosing a Gentler Mouthwash
I totally relate to missing that intense minty kick - there’s just something about it that makes you feel like you’re doing the most for your mouth, even if it’s mostly just a tingle. I used to chase that burn too, think...
RE: What’s More Important To Ask: Pain Management Or Long-Term Tooth Health?
That really resonates with me. Focusing on the science behind it made it less scary, but honestly, sometimes I’d get so caught up in the mechanics that I’d ignore when my gums were actually hurting. Do you think it’s pos...
RE: Pain relief that actually works for dry socket?
That dry socket pain is next-level, honestly. I remember feeling like nothing was really touching it except whatever stuff the dentist packed in there - it was this clove-y, numbing paste and it was such a relief after d...
RE: What’s More Important To Ask: Pain Management Or Long-Term Tooth Health?
I totally get where you’re coming from about anxiety and appointments. It’s such a real thing, especially for kids. But I do wonder if we sometimes underestimate how much missing those checkups can snowball. I skipped a ...
RE: Tackling decay in 13 teeth
I feel this so much. It’s wild how much pressure there is to have “perfect” teeth when most of us are just trying to keep them healthy (and, you know, in our mouths). I had a dentist once tell me that the natural color o...
RE: Switching to floss picks totally changed my nightly routine
I totally get the water flosser hype - especially for braces, those things are a lifesaver. But honestly, I tried one for a few weeks and just couldn’t get past the mess factor, even with the mouth-closed trick. Weirdly ...
RE: Finally stopped my teeth from wiggling - here’s what worked for me
I totally get the baking soda thing - it’s not just you. I’ve used it when I was broke, and honestly, it helped with odor, but my gums felt a little raw after a while. Xylitol rinses are pricier, yeah, but sometimes you ...
RE: Which is easier: healing from a simple extraction or a surgical one?
That lingering numbness after surgery is such a weird feeling - I totally get why it freaked you out. I had that after my lower wisdom teeth came out, too. It lasted about four days for me, then faded, but those first co...
RE: Making the switch: how I use my water flosser (and where I still mess up)
I totally get what you mean about the “arctic blast” - I did that for weeks before it finally occurred to me to just warm up the water a bit. It’s wild how something so small can make such a big difference in actually wa...
RE: Weird tricks that actually helped my tooth after a root canal
I totally get you on the whole “what even helps?” thing. After my last root canal, I tried both heat and ice and honestly, it was a toss-up - some days ice felt soothing, other times it just made things ache more. My wei...
RE: How soon did you get back to your routine after a tooth pulled?
That’s so true - my daughter was exactly like that after her extraction. Even when we suggested chewing on the other side, she just kept poking at the sore area with her tongue and didn’t want to eat much. Salt water rin...
RE: Filling turned into root canal... is this common?
Totally get where you're coming from - teeth really do have a mind of their own sometimes. I actually went in for what was supposed to be a simple filling last year, and a few weeks later, the tooth just started throbbin...
RE: Making recovery from jaw surgery less miserable - what actually helped?
Interesting - my experience with humidifiers was actually the opposite, so maybe it really does depend on the room or the person. I live in a super dry climate, and after my jaw surgery last year, I felt like my mouth an...
