RE: What signs help you identify poor aligner tracking early?
This hits home for me. I used to get so hung up on whether every tray “hugged” perfectly, but in the end, my teeth kept moving, even if the fit wasn’t textbook. I totally get that weird relief when there’s soreness, too ...
RE: Keeping old bridges in shape - what actually works?
Yeah, I get what you mean about the water flossers making a mess. The first time I tried one, I pretty much hosed down my whole sink and had to change my shirt after. It does take some practice - once you figure out the ...
RE: What to do when you chip a tooth at home (been there…)
That sweet sensitivity is the worst - totally agree. I actually thought cold drinks would hurt more, but for me, it was tomato sauce that set it off. I never realized how much you use that side of your mouth until you’re...
RE: Keeping dentures fresh when you’re forgetful like me
That’s a pretty accurate description - never thought of it that way, but now I can’t un-smell it. I’ve always wondered, are there any tablets that don’t have that weird aftertaste? Or maybe it’s just part of the deal. Ei...
RE: Keeping pain at bay after wisdom tooth extraction: worth the fuss?
Honestly, I kept asking myself the same thing. I followed every instruction to the letter, but my friend just rinsed with salt water and barely worried, and both of us healed fine. Is dry socket just random luck, or does...
RE: Saw a story about sinus lifts getting more common - anyone else nervous?
Yeah, I totally get what you mean about eating being weird - honestly, I never thought I’d have to “plan” how to eat soup. Did you ever feel like you were being too careful, but then freak out if you weren’t? I kept seco...
RE: Creamy, Gritty, or Gel? What’s Your Toothpaste Texture Go-To
I’ve wondered about the kids’ toothpaste thing too - seems like it’d be gentler, but does it actually help with the grossness? I tried brushing my clear retainer with regular toothpaste once and it got all cloudy, which ...
RE: What’s your go-to after jaw surgery: wax, salt water, or just toughing it out?
I always wondered if salt water was just a placebo, but honestly, my stitches felt less angry after a few days of swishing. Wax never stayed put for me either - plus, it tasted weird. Has anyone ever tried silicone cover...
RE: Creamy, Gritty, or Gel? What’s Your Toothpaste Texture Go-To
I’ve always wondered if I’m the odd one out for actually liking that gritty feeling. I mean, not the full-on sandpaper tongue, but there’s something about the paste with a bit of texture that makes my teeth feel cleaner ...
RE: Keeping your retainer from getting gross (and actually remembering to wear it)
That cloudy haze is honestly the bane of my existence. I used to be super diligent about brushing my retainer with toothpaste, but then my orthodontist told me that’s actually what causes the cloudiness in the first plac...
RE: Little things that made getting veneers way easier
Title: Little Things That Made Getting Veneers Way Easier Did you get that weird jaw cramp too? I swear, after about 30 minutes in the chair, my mouth felt like it was stuck open for days. Stretching definitely helped m...
RE: Kid Knocked Out a Tooth - What Should I Have Ready at Home?
I’ve always wondered about the milk thing too - like, is it really that much better than just water in a pinch? I get that it’s supposed to help keep the tooth alive, but I’ve read mixed stuff. One dentist told me saline...
RE: Early Dental Visits Matter More Than Parents Realize
Isn’t it wild how the “pointless” stuff is what actually helps? I used to wonder if those sticker-and-count appointments were just a way to fill a slot, but now I think it’s about normalizing the whole dentist thing earl...
