I had a dentist once who made a huge deal about a spot on my molar, but another dentist later told me it was just surface staining from tea.
Honestly, this happens more than people think. I’ve seen plenty of “mystery spots” that turned out to be harmless stains or even natural grooves in the enamel. If your kid’s not complaining and you don’t see it getting bigger, I’d just keep an eye on it. Sometimes kids’ teeth look wild and then the adult ones come in totally fine.
I get where you’re coming from, but I’m a little more cautious. Even if it’s “just a stain,” sometimes those spots can hide early cavities, especially in kids.
I tried that with my son and the next checkup, the dentist found a small cavity under what looked like a harmless mark. Not to freak you out, but I’d rather get it checked than risk missing something early. If your kid’s not complaining and you don’t see it getting bigger, I’d just keep an eye on it.
