So yesterday my little cousin finally got her braces off after like two years of metal-mouth misery, lol. She was super shy about smiling before, always covering her mouth or doing that awkward closed-lip smile thing in photos. Anyway, we had this whole family dinner planned, and she walks in trying to act all casual, but you could tell she was dying to show off her new smile.
My uncle made some goofy joke, and she just burst out laughing without thinkingβand bam, there it was, the biggest grin I've ever seen on her face. Everyone just kinda froze for a sec, then my grandma legit started tearing up (grandmas, you know how they are). It was honestly pretty sweet and funny at the same time.
Got me thinking though... imagine a scenario where someone hides their smile for years for some mysterious reason, and then one day they finally reveal it. Maybe there's something magical or unexpected about it? Could be a cool story idea or something. Curious if anyone has thoughts on where that could go.
That's such a sweet moment, reminds me of when I finally got my dentures fitted properly after months of adjustments. I was so self-conscious before, but that first genuine laugh without worrying... felt like freedom. Your cousin must've felt amazing.
