Honestly, I relate to all of that. The yogurt thing drove me up the wall, especially since I was trying to avoid pricier “special” snacks after each tightening. I’d just rinse with water and hope for the best—sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. That cold sensitivity is real too. I started microwaving applesauce for like 10 seconds, just so it wasn’t straight from the fridge. It’s wild how you get creative just to save a little money and keep things comfortable. You’re definitely not alone in this.

Totally get this. I remember thinking I’d just eat mashed potatoes for a few days because they were cheap and filling, but even that got old fast. The cold sensitivity is brutal—ice water was a no-go for weeks after each tightening. I actually started leaving stuff out on the counter for a bit so it wasn’t fridge-cold. Honestly, it’s all about finding those little tricks that don’t break the bank.

Leaving stuff out to warm up—yep, that’s a classic move. I’ve heard some folks even microwave their drinks just to take the chill off, which sounds weird until you’re dealing with that sensitivity. I’m curious, did you notice any foods that were unexpectedly easy (or hard) after a tightening? For me, scrambled eggs were a lifesaver, but even soft bread felt like chewing rocks sometimes.

And about the mashed potatoes—totally agree, they get old fast. I always tell people to rotate in things like yogurt or cottage cheese, but not everyone’s into that texture. Did you try any of those, or was it mostly potatoes for you? I guess everyone finds their own “survival menu” during those first few days.

Also, did you ever get those random headaches after an adjustment? Some people swear it’s part of the process, others barely notice. Just wondering if that was your experience too, or if it was all about the teeth and jaw for you.

Totally get what you mean about bread—everyone acts like it’s the “easy” food, but after a tightening? Not a chance. I actually found cold applesauce easier than some of the supposedly soft stuff, which surprised me. And yeah, headaches hit me hard after my first adjustment. I always thought it was just jaw pain, but nope, it radiated right up. Hang in there—it does get better, even if the “survival menu” is weird at first.

Funny you mention bread—I tried a slice after my second tightening and honestly thought I’d chipped a tooth. Ended up living off mashed potatoes for days. The headaches threw me, too, more than the tooth pain some weeks. It really is a weird adjustment period.
