Totally agree about the flavored toothpaste—my kiddo loves the strawberry one, but it makes me nervous she's swallowing too much. Anyone else worry about that? I've tried the song method too, and it works pretty well, but sometimes she just dances around instead of brushing properly... Has anyone had luck with those electric toothbrushes that buzz every 30 seconds? Wondering if they're actually helpful or just another distraction.

We've had pretty good luck with those electric toothbrushes. The buzzing every 30 seconds actually helps my daughter stay focused—she sees it as a mini-challenge to brush each section until the buzz. But I get your concern about distractions; at first, she was more interested in the buzzing than brushing. It took a few days of gentle reminders and demonstrating proper technique before it clicked. Also, about swallowing toothpaste, have you tried using just a tiny smear instead of a full pea-sized amount? That helped ease my worries a bit.

We tried the electric toothbrush too, and honestly, it was hit or miss. My son got way too fixated on the buzzing and kept stopping to wait for it, haha. What finally worked for us was using a brushing song from YouTube—he brushes along until the song ends. Also seconding the tiny smear of toothpaste; our dentist recommended that too, and it definitely eased my worries about swallowing.

We had a similar experience with the buzzing toothbrush—my daughter got distracted waiting for the buzz too, lol. Does your son ever get bored of the same brushing song though? I worry mine would lose interest after a week or two... Anyway, glad the tiny smear of toothpaste worked out for you. Our dentist suggested that as well, and it definitely made me less anxious about her swallowing toothpaste.

Haha, the buzzing toothbrush distraction is real—seen it plenty of times with my own kids. And yep, songs can lose their charm pretty quick. Ever tried mixing it up with silly voices or goofy dances to keep things fresh? Sometimes a little silliness goes a long way...
